We're celebrating some important steps around here. Here is Sofia celebrating after her candidate, Barack Obama, won on Nov. 4. Notice her pride after participating in the process!

Today Sofia took her first couple of steps by herself without holding on to anyone or anything! Big first steps for the country and in our house!!

A visit from Aunt Mary

Aunt Mary is here visiting. Here she is with her friend Kim, who also is visiting DC (if not Sofia).

A visit from Grandma Karen

Grandma Karen was in town for one night, and she got to spend some quality time playing with Sofia. They read books.

Another new blog post!

I won't blog every weekend (I promise), but we had another weekend of busy fun. It was filled with some mundane things like going grocery shopping.


We also went for a run Saturday morning in the cool temperatures.







Saturday afternoon, we went to a birthday party for our friend Alston. Here she is with Angie, and Mila, one of Alston's twin girls (about 6 months older than Sofie).




Sunday was a bit more routine (so I forgot to take a camera). Here was Sunday night dinnertime. In other news, you'll notice Angie doing things like sitting and standing very well. Her back is getting better every week. HOORAY!!

Our busy weekend

We had quite the busy weekend! First, on Saturday we had a visit with Angie's friend Christine Barboriak, her mother and her two children (ages 18 months and 4 years) and our friend Jon Hansen. We all had lunch at a cafe at Eastern Market.

Then, after lunch we had a nice time lolling around the park.








And then a bath!







On Sunday, I ran the army 10 Mile race. no picture from the race, but here I am showing off my race t-shirt to my daughter.






Then , we surprised Brad Blash at his house for his birthday. Here is Brad with his little girl, Sabrina, Angie and Sofia.





Later, we had our annual BBQ/Condo meeting back at our house. Sofie looked pretty done with a long day, but she had fun!

Sofia at 16 weeks

We have other pictures from Easter weekend but I wanted to post this right away. She turned over once on Sunday and now does it pretty easily. By the way, this video was taken with the new camera!

This week in Sofia's world

I thought it had been two weeks since mt last post, but oh well...

Not much to report. She puts her hands in her mouth a lot. She also seems to get bored more easily. She demands to be carried facing out.
